Tear trough deformity is a major concern in a lot of individuals.
It is characterised by a sunken appearance of the eye that results in the casting of a dark shadow over the lower eyelid, giving the patient a fatigued appearance despite adequate rest, and is refractory to cosmetic concealement.
Fillers are often used to correct this problem and to treat these under eye hollows.
Even though this is a very challenging area and not all patients are suitable candidates, results of treatment with filler are mostly gratifying.
